Advent Cosplay – Profile

A record of creation by a curious, solitary maker.

Skill radar chart

Sewing — From reference to fabric

Most of my costumes are self-made.
I study references until every detail feels familiar, sketch, plan colors and textures, then shop with intent.
Even in a small room I carve out a workspace and keep experimenting in my own way.
I’ll share making processes on the blog and in videos.
Please enjoy these notes as one maker’s research log.

Photography — Trust through the lens

My tripod is my partner; I shoot a lot of self-portraits.
For my own costumes I’m mostly self-sufficient — DSLR, lights, and editing learned by doing.
Photographing friends is a joy. How the photos are used is up to the subject.
Respecting that freedom is my stance as a photographer.

Tech — Tools that keep creation moving

I love machines and tools.
This site — from concept to programming — is hand-built.
I’m comfortable tuning a sewing machine, handling camera gear, and working in Photoshop/Illustrator.
Understanding pixels, resolution, and color helps me present work the way it deserves.
From business cards to web pages, I enjoy supporting creativity with technology.

Play — Walking through stories

Once I start playing, I dive deep.
I adapt quickly to new worlds and systems.
Games shaped my sensitivity to story and character — they let me “walk” inside worlds I care about.
Even unfair mechanics can be fun; challenge is part of the charm.

Music — Listening for resonance

I played clarinet in a school wind ensemble for about ten years.
Now I’m exploring guitar — chords, arpeggios, and tone.
My ears are sensitive; I like recreating anime and game music by ear.
Sound is another way I shape the feel of my work.

English — A bridge over the valley of words

I use English daily and enjoy cross-cultural conversations.
My Instagram posts are written for overseas friends.
It started with wanting to fully understand lyrics from the Sonic series by ear.
I learned from native friends in school and kept going.
I can help visiting cosplayers at events like WSC — if you need a hand, feel free to ask.
